(ST. PAUL, Ind.) – Two people were killed and another person was seriously hurt after a head-on crash in Decatur County on Friday. 

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on Old U.S. 421 North near North County Road 520 West. 

Decatur County deputies say a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Jason Paul Hall, of Marion, crossed the centerline and struck a southbound vehicle. 

Hall was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 

The southbound vehicle was driven by 56-year-old Douglas Ott, of Shelbyville, who was also killed in the crash. 

An 18-year-old passenger in Ott’s vehicle was flown to an Indianapolis hospital with severe injuries. The current status of that person has not been released. 

The accident caused a portion of the highway to be closed for four hours as part of the investigation.
