(MYRTLE BEACH, SC) – Three golfers from Batesville put up impressive numbers at the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship last week.

It’s the largest amateur golf tournament in the world where more than 3,000 players from all 50 states competed on golf courses across the Grand Strand.

Tom Meyer, Greg Fullenkamp and Randy Bergman made the trip to South Carolina and competed in their designated age divisions. 

Meyer was in the super-senior division for ages 70 to 79. His overall net score was 293 to finish second, while the winner shot 289. 

Bergman was also in the same division and had an overall score of 305 to finish tied for tenth place.

Fullenkamp competed in the men’s 60-69 age group and finished 13th out of 48 players. 

The tournament had more than 60 different divisions and each golfer played at least 4 rounds on 4 different courses. 

The Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship took place from August 31 to September 4.
