3v3 basketball tournament to raise funds for good cause

(GREENDALE, Ind.) – A Greendale 3v3 basketball league is planning a tournament for a good cause in July. 

Organizers are hoping to get 24 teams and use the tournament as a fundraiser for Milan resident Shelby Caldwell. 

The 27-year-old is wife, mom and teacher at God’s Bright Ministries daycare in Bright. She is battling a serious form of cancer. 

Johnathan Askins is one of the owners of the basketball league and came up with the idea of using the basketball tournament to assist Shelby. 

“Her family are long time friends of ours and we want to do anything we can to help,” Askins said. 

The annual 3v3 Greendale Park Tournament will be held on July 25.
