All of Franklin Co. to have high-speed internet access by 2030

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – Every home in Franklin County will likely have access to high-speed internet as a result of a statewide program.
On Wednesday, Governor Mike Braun announced that $400 million in federal broadband contracts have been awarded to 24 internet providers in Indiana through the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program.
It will result in 122,000 Indiana homes receiving high-speed reliable broadband service.
Franklin County Economic Development Commission member John Palmer said four internet service providers were awarded contracts to work in Franklin County.
“There are 2,172 locations that will be connected in this program. This should put 100 percent of Franklin County addresses that want a connection to have access to high speed internet,” Palmer said.
Construction on all projects is expected to be complete by 2030.
