(CARROLLTON, KY) – An Amish boy was killed and several others were injured after a car crashed into a horse and buggy in Northern Kentucky.
The incident happened in Carroll County on Saturday night.
Crash investigators say a Carrollton man rear-ended a buggy that had three Amish juveniles inside.
All three were rushed to a Louisville hospital and the Kentucky State Police confirmed on Sunday that one of them passed away from his injuries.
A family friend told The 812 that those in the buggy are part of the Old Order Amish community.
“Please pray for the parents who tonight are facing every parent’s worst nightmare. Pray for the siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends whose lives will never be the same. Pray for the children who witnessed this tragedy, that will carry those memories with them forever and please pray for our Amish community,” she said.
She added, “And please pray for the local man involved in the accident. I cannot imagine the weight he is carrying tonight. This tragedy has changed many lives forever.”
