Batesville Casket Cup soccer tournament set for Oct. 24

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Batesville Soccer Club is accepting team registrations for their annual annual Casket Cup Tournament on Saturday, October 24. 

The 3-on-3 soccer tournament encourages teams to dress up in costumes, with the theme this year being American 250th spooky Halloween. 

Each team is guaranteed three games and the divisions are boys and girls U8 through U18 and there are also adult leagues.

"Teams are made up of a max of 4 players and we try to have as little coach involvement as possible," organizers said.

The tournament will start at 9:30 a.m. and are played at the Plex. Food trucks and concessions will be available.

Games consist of 2 12-minute halves on a small field with 4x8 goals. There are no goalkeepers. 

There are awards for each division champion, runner-up and best costumes. 

The cost is $140 per team and the deadline to register is October 1. Each participant will receive a t-shirt.
