(BATESVILLE, Ind.) - The assistant principal at Batesville Intermediate School will transition into the same role at the high school.
Eric Peetz has served as the BIS assistant principal since 2018 where he created a new student handbook, initiated new methods to track behavior and attendance issues, and was recognized for his work in crisis prevention, intervention and school safety.
BCSC officials said his leadership and positive approach to disciplinary issues makes him a natural choice to serve as assistant principal at the high school.
“He knows our corporation, our systems, and our Bulldog Ready program, and most importantly, he knows our students and families very well. He is a man of integrity and leads with consistency and fairness for all students. I am excited to welcome him as a crucial member of our leadership team,” said new BHS principal Brad Stoneking.
Peetz is a Jac-Cen-Del graduate who has a Masters Degree in elementary education and holds a School Administration certification.
He also taught fourth grade at Batesville Intermediate School for a decade and was named a semifinalist for Indiana State Teacher of the Year in 2017.
Peetz describes Batesville High School as one of the elite high schools in Indiana and is looking forward to working alongside Stoneking as well as all the teachers.
“The opportunities that BHS students are afforded are unmatched. I am fully committed to maintaining a safe and positive school climate where all students feel welcome, have a sense of belonging, and have the confidence and determination to seek out all of those opportunities,” Peetz said.
He added, “I am excited to get started with the outstanding BHS team and all of the students. Together, we will do great things.”
Eric and his wife, Amber, have two children who currently attend Batesville High School.
