Batesville Library fundraising for Arts & Innovation Hub

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Batesville Memorial Public Library (BMPL) is seeking community donations as it begins its final phase of fundraising for the Arts & Innovation Hub.

The 8,300-square-foot Innovation Hub will serve as a creative space that will include a 200-person event venue, a makerspace with tools for hands-on learning, a recording studio, and flexible rooms designed to support a wide range of activities.

“The space is intended to serve artists, entrepreneurs, students, and local organizations by offering workshops, equipment, and programming that encourage both creativity and lifelong learning. In addition, an outdoor event lawn and gathering plaza will offer new opportunities for community events and public connection,” said BMPL executive director Kim Porter.

Following substantial support from the City of Batesville through a bond issuance and a READI state grant, the project is close to becoming a reality.

The Library is hoping to raise the remaining $300,000 needed to complete construction and open the facility to the public.

“We are grateful for the strong local and state support that has moved this project forward,” Porter said. “Now we are inviting the community to join us in bringing the Arts & Innovation Hub to life. This is an investment in Batesville’s future — in creativity, learning, and community connection.”

Donations of any size will support the purchasing of equipment, indoor/outdoor seating, landscaping and launch programming for the Hub. Contributions are tax-deductible.
