Batesville library seeking podcast, audio expert to teach others

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Batesville Memorial Public Library is seeking an audio professional or recording artist for their Arts & Innovation Hub.
The Maker-in-Residence position is a temporary role to teach community members about the creative studio that exists at the hub, which includes audio, music, podcasting and video.
“We want the Maker-in-Residence program to connect talented creatives with our community and give patrons the opportunity to learn directly from someone who is passionate about their craft,” said BMPL Director Kim Porter. “This residency is about sharing knowledge, encouraging creativity, and helping people discover what they can create.”
It will include a $2,500 stipend and the individual will complete 72-96 hours of work over the 12-week residency.
Responsibilities will include:
Teaching 6–8 public classes or workshops
Providing one-on-one instruction
Offering drop-in office or studio hours
Creating training videos for future Create Studio users
The residency schedule and programming will be developed collaboratively with the selected resident.
Applicants should submit an artist statement, resume, maker biography, up to six samples of work, a teaching proposal, and information about other commitments that may overlap with the residency.
Applications will be considered based on creative experience, artistic approach, and the ability to develop engaging, accessible learning opportunities for the community.
Applications are due by November 1 and you submit materials to director@ebatesville.com by November 1, 2026.
