(PEORIA, AZ.) – Batesville native Bryan Hoeing is dealing with an elbow discomfort in Spring Training, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The San Diego Padres reliever has been temporarily shut down as he deals with the injury.
Padres manager Craig Stammen said earlier this week, “Hoeing went and got a second opinion yesterday. So, we’re still determining the next steps. But he’ll be out for a little while until we determine what the next point in the progression is.”
Bryan missed a substantial portion of the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury before returning and pitching eight innings for the Padres.
One of his appearances occurred while San Diego played the Reds at Great American Ball Park and Hoeing earned the win. Watch that here.
Hoeing had a breakout season in 2024 when he posted a 2.18 ERA in 34 appearances for the Marlins and Padres.
He is hoping to be a consistent part of the San Diego bullpen in 2026.
