(BLOOMINGTON, Ind.) – The Batesville Middle School eighth grade basketball team is getting a rare opportunity on Sunday.
The team has been invited to participate in a postseason tournament that will be played on the homecourt of the IU Hoosiers.
This exclusive 4-team tournament is organized by St. Charles Catholic School in Bloomington and the Bulldogs received the invite because they completed a 21-0 season.
Batesville will be coached by parents PJ Schneider and Abby Gessel.
They will face Providence at 12 p.m. Sunday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
If the Bulldogs win the first game, they will play in the championship game at 4 p.m.
If they lose, a consolation game will be held at 3 p.m.
The other two teams competing are St. Charles and Loogootee.
Admission is just $5 and attendees are asked to park on the south entrance of Assembly Hall.
