Brookville Legion makes $5K donation to local flood victims

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – The Brookville American Legion is making a substantial donation to help local flood survivors.
The Post made a $5,200 donation to the Franklin County Flood Relief this past week.
Each component of the Post chipped in to make it possible, including the Legionnaires, the Legion Riders, Ladies Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion.
“We truly are here for the community and help people in ways that not everyone sees. It’s our honor to support those impacted by the floods,” said Brookville American Legion Vice Commander Faith Jones.
This isn’t the first time they’ve assisted with the flood efforts.
One veteran was displaced due to the flood and the Legion provided a hotel, food cards and gas cards to him.
“There was another veteran who needed gas for his generator and we gave him a $200 gas card,” Jones added.
