(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A Brookville man has been convicted of domestic battery for the second time in three years.
38-year-old Brandon Ashby was found guilty on Wednesday of battering and choking his girlfriend in June of 2024. The two-day jury trial was presided over by Franklin County Judge Alex Dudley.
The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office says Ashby was found guilty in 2022 of domestic battery, involving a different victim. He was sentenced to the maximum term of 30 months following that trial.
A sentencing hearing for the most recent conviction is scheduled for November 13 where Ashby could face 6-30 months in jail.
Franklin County Deputy Prosecutor Blaine Timonera represented the State of Indiana at both trials.
Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp says he expects to have additional comments following sentencing.
