(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Nature can be healing and that is one of the inspirations behind a new initiative in Ripley County.
The Carson Hughes Foundation has launched “Grief Hikes” that welcome anyone who is dealing with grief or loss.
“Strangers came together carrying a common bond of loss, and along the trail we shared memories, stories, and the love we still hold for those we miss. There was comfort in knowing we didn’t have to walk alone,” the foundation said.
The first grief hike was held last month and there will be another one at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 8.
It will be held at Versailles State Park and attendees are asked to meet by the pool area.
The hike are typically held on the trails but due to weather, this one might take place on the road. A decision will be made by the group on Sunday.
