City of Lawrenceburg recognizes Citizens of the Year

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The City of Lawrenceburg is recognizing a couple for the difference they’ve made since moving to the community.

Scott and Susan McLain were named the 2026 Citizens of the Year during the Lawrenceburg Fall Music Fest on Saturday night. 

They moved to Lawrenceburg in 2017 and quickly fell in love with the community. 

Scott and Susan founded and operate a downtown business called Hamerlynck, which offers a wide range of collectibles, antiques, jewelry, toys and other unique items. It is located at 134 Walnut Street.

They have also been involved in numerous organizations as Scott serves on the Board of Zoning Appeals as well as the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis, while Susan has served on the City’s Historic Preservation Commission and also worked at Ivy Tech. 

The couple is also heavily-involved in Lawrenceburg Main Street as well as SEI Gardens. 

Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun said the McLain's exemplify the spirit of volunteerism and civic pride in the community.

“They have invested their time, talents and hearts into this community. They have supported our businesses, our historic character, our community organizations, our gardens, our events, and most importantly, our people,” the mayor said. 

Mayor Mollaun presented the couple with an award and thanked them for choosing to move to Lawrenceburg.
