Columbus woman jailed on drug charges after overdose

(COLUMBUS, Ind.) – A Columbus woman is facing felony drug charges after an overdose investigation. 


Police responded to a home in the 2200 block of Park Avenue on Sunday morning and say they discovered an unresponsive person. 


That person was given Narcan, was hospitalized and recovered before being taken to jail.


A local drug task force known as the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) began investigating and conducted a raid of the home. 


Investigators say they found a substantial quantity of suspected fentanyl along with additional illegal drug-related items. 


39-year-old Jessica Comstock was arrested on felony charges of Dealing in a Narcotic Drug, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Possession of a Legend Drug Injection Device, Possession of a Legend Drug and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Paraphernalia. 


The JNET task force is a unit comprised of the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, the Columbus Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor's Office.
