Community rallies after tragic crash kills couple, hurts kids

(AURORA, Ind.) – The community is showing support for a local family after a tragic crash on State Road 350 near Aurora on Friday night. 

33-year-old Jordan Walters and 33-year-old Sierra Walters, of Milan, were killed when their vehicle was struck head-on by a pickup truck. 

Their two young children were also in the vehicle and were rushed to hospitals with serious injuries. Their current conditions are not known. 

The driver of the pickup, 46-year-old Steven Witte, of Moores Hill, was taken to a Cincinnati hospital with serious injuries as well. His current status is also not known. 

Friend of the Walters family launched a Go Fund Me on Saturday with proceeds going toward medical expenses, funeral costs and future assistance for their two young children.

An account called “Jordan and Sierra Walters Family Benefit Account” has also been established at all Napoleon State Banks. 

One friend tells us that the family was traveling to a Milan youth baseball game when the crash occurred. The players and coaches from that 8U team took a knee and said prayers on Friday. 

On Saturday, they had a tournament in Lawrenceburg where a moment of silence took place. 

They later finished that game with a tie score of 4-4. It just so happens that their teammate that was involved in the crash wears #44.
