Crews from 5 counties respond to Milroy pallet fire
(MILROY, Ind.) – Fire departments from across the region are on the scene of a pallet plant fire in Milroy Tuesday afternoon.
The fire is occurring at a property in the 3900 block of County Road 900 South between State Road 3 and County Road 500 West.
The road is entirely blocked off to allow emergency personnel to get to and from the scene.
There are fire departments from at least five counties that have responded including Decatur, Rush, Ripley, Franklin, and Shelby counties.
Some agencies on scene have traveled upwards of 30 minutes to assist including Batesville, Morris, Napoleon and Sunman fire departments.
Tankers are filling up at various locations including in downtown Milroy as well as North Decatur High School.
While enroute to the area, we could see smoke from as far away as New Point and Westport as well,
