Cyber tips lead to arrest of North Vernon man

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – Cyber tips led authorities to arrest a North Vernon man for allegedly having illegal child-related content.

The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force said it had received four tips that photos depicting child sexual abuse material were uploaded to a social media’s messenger service earlier this yer.

It led to an Indiana State Police investigation where they identified a home on South County Road 200 West.

A search warrant was issued and 22-year-old Tommy Jason Lee Dupuis was arrested Tuesday on a preliminary charge of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, Level 5 Felony.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.

The Indiana ICAC Task Force is a multiagency task force that investigates and prosecutes persons who use the internet to exploit or entice children sexually. The Indiana State Police oversees the task force.
