Damaging winds, flooding possible late tonight, overnight

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) currently has Southeast Indiana under an enhanced risk for severe weather on Wednesday and early Thursday.

The SPC’s Enhanced Risk is a level 3 out of 5 and means numerous severe and intense storms are possible.

Damaging winds up to 70 miles-per-hour are possible along with flash flooding, hail and the potential for a few isolated tornadoes.

The photo above is from Chris Phillips with Weather Pulse and he says, "I think the red hatched area is likely to see the best threat for severe weather tonight. Winds up to 70mph and a strong tornado could be possible."

Due to the most severe weather possible between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., be sure you have ways to receive warnings, such as your phone being able to receive emergency alerts.

One good app to download is Weather Pulse which is locally-owned and sends notifications when there are warnings in your area.
