He hit a buzzer beater on Sunday! Watch here;
(OSGOOD, Ind.) – A Jac-Cen-Del third grader had a clutch performance on the basketball court this weekend!
9-year-old Owen Einhaus plays for the JCD 3rd Grade Team in the Dirt Road Basketball League.
The young Eagles were facing South Decatur and the game went into overtime on Sunday.
A South Decatur player hit a free throw to take a 20-19 lead with just six seconds left.
With time ticking away, Einhaus quickly dribbled the ball down the court and hit a three pointer as time expired.
The buzzer beater by Einhaus gave Jac-Cen-Del a 22-20 victory over the Cougars!
“The best part of it came after the shot, with all the players running over and all the emotion. There was a lot of happiness and even some happy tears from the players. They really care and really wanted to win,” said Owen’s dad, Tyler, who is also a coach.
Owen is one of 10 players on the team and each player is described as being a good athlete and even better kid.
Einhaus is also a baseball player and used to play soccer. He also excels in school by getting great grades and being on the Honor Roll.
His dad says Owen always has a ball in his hand and works hard to be a great basketball player.
The video of the buzzer beater was provided by Jac-Cen-Del Varsity Head Coach Clint Bohman.
Great job, Owen and the JCD 3rd Graders! Keep up the great work on the court and in school!
