(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Staff members at Developmental Services in Greensburg have received emergency safety training.
Decatur County Memorial Hospital and Decatur County EMS gave an interactive emergency safety presentation that focused on preparedness, confidence, and community connection.
The presentation emphasized the importance of scene safety and recognizing when to call for help. Participants also learned practical, everyday emergency response basics, including what to do during bleeding emergencies, burns, head and neck injuries, choking incidents, and other common situations where quick action can make a difference.
DSI participants took part in bleeding emergency training and were able to tour DCEMS ambulances, ask questions, and engage directly with healthcare professionals in a relaxed, supportive setting.
“Helping our community feel informed, prepared, and supported is at the heart of what we do,” said DCMH’s Staff Development Coordinator Anne Swinney.
