DCMH hosts annual Women's Health Expo

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – More than 120 women received free health screenings during Decatur County Memorial Hospital’s 2026 Women’s Health Expo on Saturday.

The event was held in coordination with the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County and its supporters.

“Early results from the event show that 93% of attendees were recommended for some form of follow-up care, underscoring the ongoing need for preventive screenings in the community,” said DCMH Marketing Manager Liz McCoy.

The comprehensive screenings covered a wide range of services including diabetes, heart, lung, mental health, breast, colon, thyroid, nutrition support and more.

Dr. Mary McCullough, Dr. Krystle Roberts, Dr. Isaiah Steffen, Dr. Karen Summe, and Nurse Practitioners Brianna Daeger and Kelly Miller conducted these screenings to detect serious health conditions early and provide essential care to those who may not receive regular primary care visits.

The volunteer team included several doctors and more than 50 DCMH associates to ensure a smooth process with all the event screenings and activities.

“Beyond these health assessments, attendees explored an interactive and educational display that challenged common healthcare myths. Afterwards, event attendees visited a vendor fair featuring handcrafted goods from 9 local small businesses,” McCoy said.

She added, "The Women’s Health Expo provides women access to the screenings and education they need to stay informed about their health.”
