(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Decatur County Memorial Hospital Surgery team is giving back this holiday season.
The AGAPE Center is a local nonprofit that provides Christmas Blessing Baskets during the holidays. The organization shared that they needed additional food items this Christmas.
Hannah, a surgery nurse, came up with the idea to raise donations for the program and her team members agreed.
A nurse's husband built a wooden donation tree that was placed in the surgery waiting room. The tree served as a way to hold donations.
Food donations were made by the Surgery team, patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
“Food insecurity is an ongoing challenge in Decatur County, and the Hospital’s support is very helpful,” said Kim Springmeyer, AGAPE Center Representative.
The AGAPE Center serves the community throughout the year, not just during the holidays, and items are given to those in need daily. You can get more information by clicking here.
