(DILLBORO, Ind.) – A Dearborn County Council member is crediting Aurora EMS for their rapid response to an emergency on Friday.
Since April, Aurora EMS has kept an emergency vehicle at the Dillsboro Fire Station a fast response to incidents.
It was placed in Dillsboro after the Indiana Attorney General called for the dissolution of the Dillsboro Emergency Ambulance Unit (DEAU) due to declining response rate to calls.
On Friday, the Aurora EMS vehicle was called to a home due to a person experiencing breathing difficulties.
Crews were on scene within three minutes and the situation escalated into a more critical health matter, Dearborn County Councilmember Doug Baker said.
“It is conceivable that the outcome could have been significantly altered without this prompt response. Dillsboro is indeed fortunate to have Aurora EMS providing their services for our emergency calls,” said Baker.
He thanked not only Aurora EMS but also Dillsboro Fire, Dillsboro Police and the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department.
