Seeking donations to help with startup costs

(WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.) – A Greensburg native is a founding member of a new organization at Purdue University.
Irene Moore is one of four Purdue students who have founded the Pet Rescue Club.
The club welcomes all Purdue students to join and one of their initiatives will be volunteering at animal shelters in the Lafayette area.
They will also host other unique initiatives such as dog walk-a-thons, petting events, animal yoga and more.
“Our mission is to help students adopt, foster, volunteer, fundraiser and gain hands-on animal experience,” Moore said. “Our goal is to help alleviate stress that shelters are experiencing due to overcrowding and understaffing.”
The four organizers have been paying out of their own pockets for startup fees and materials.
“Now that we are gaining members and getting closer to our events, we are in need of funding to help this club really take off and be a benefit to the community of Purdue and the West Lafayette-Lafayette area,” Moore added.
The club is kicking off the school year strong as they set up a booth at Purdue's Be Involved Fair this past weekend. Irene said there were more than 300 students who signed up to receive more information or join the club.

Moore added that she hopes the Pet Rescue Club can be expanded across Indiana in the future.
To help the club get started, there are two separate Go Fund Me initiatives that have been launched.
One Go Fund Me is for club-related expenses which you can access by clicking here.
The other one is to raise funds that will be donated to animal shelters and humane societies. You can access that one here.
