(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Decatur County United Fund (DCUF) has announced that Executive Director Joane Cunningham will retire in 2026.
Cunningham has served in the role for 18 years and has been instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission of building hope, health and stability for the community.
She has helped raise more than $9 million to support local nonprofits and has played a key role in expanding programs focused on early education, youth development, family stability, and essential community services.
Cunningham has also helped mobilize hundreds of volunteers during her tenure.
“Joane has been a cornerstone of DCUF’s success,” said Sally Cuskaden, Board Chair of DCUF. “Her vision and commitment have left an enduring legacy, and we are deeply grateful for her exceptional service.”
Her final day on the job will be July 1 and DCUF has launched a search for the next director.
Their ideal candidate will bring a strong, trusted presence and the ability to communicate clearly, build relationships, and unify diverse stakeholders – including donors, business leaders, nonprofit partners, elected officials, and community members.
“We invite community members and partners to share recommendations for strong candidates who will view this role not just as a job, but as a commitment to championing Decatur County United Fund’s mission and strengthening the community it serves,” Cuskaden added.
The position will be posted in the next few weeks and you can get updates here.
