(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A meeting regarding a potential solar project in Decatur County will be held tonight.
The Decatur County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting will take place at 7 p.m. and it has been moved to the Greensburg High School Auditorium.
Attendees are asked to enter the school through Door 1S and the school is located at 1000 E. Central Avenue.
The meeting includes an agenda item where Geenex Solar/ Cobia Solar is requesting a “Special Exception” for construction of a commercial solar energy facility in the Burney area.
A grassroots community group called Decatur County Citizens Stop Industrial Solar & Wind has been vocal against the project.
They say the project is a land grab and will ruin prime farm ground. They’re encouraging those against the project to go to the meeting and wear yellow.
Those in favor of the project are asked to wear blue.
