Dillsboro Homecoming Fest honored police, EMT

(DILLSBORO, Ind.) –The Dillsboro Homecoming Festival began last night with several first responders being honored.
The festival gave out awards for Police Officer of the Year and EMS Provider of the Year along with some other categories.
Aurora police officers Matthew Hountz, Jason Turner and Kevin Siegel were recognized with the law enforcement award.
Local EMT Bill Wooderson was also honored for his lifesaving actions when he responded to cardiac arrest in Dillsboro last year.
“His quick actions, skill, and calm leadership helped save a life. Because of the outstanding care provided on scene, that patient was able to walk out of the hospital and return home to their family,” Aurora EMS said.
During the award ceremony Nash McGownd and Khloe Brooks were named Prince and Princes and Lana Melton received the Outstanding Citizen Award.
