(ORANGE BEACH, ALA.) – An Alabama woman is showing video from a dive she took at the former Argosy Casino.
The former Lawrenceburg riverboat was sunk in the Gulf of Mexico last week as part of an initiative to make it part of the largest artificial reef system in the United States.
Sally Altmyer Schenck got an up close view of the ship when she dove nearly 130 feet to where it rests now.
She said, “There wasn’t a fish to be found besides a few barracudas but hopefully should be a great dive spot in a few years.”
The boat was in Lawrenceburg from 1998 to 2009 and was replaced by what is now Hollywood Casino.
