DNR to close Quakertown beach at Brookville Lake

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- One of the beaches at Brookville Lake is closing.
The beach at Quakertown State Recreational Area will close due to a drop in usage and rising maintenance costs, according to the Indiana Department of National Resources
DNR officials added that Quakertown will remain open for boating, fishing and other outdoor recreational activities.
The beach area will be repurposed for another recreational use.
Meanwhile, Mounds State Recreational Area did undergo a beach house remodel this winter while Whitewater Memorial State Park now features a renovated playground, fishing pier and new restrooms.
