Happened on Sunday
(RICHMOND, Ind.) – A fundraiser has been launched after a Wayne County family lost nearly everything in a house fire.
The fire happened Sunday afternoon at a home northwest of Richmond in the small town of Webster. The family wasn’t home at the time of the fire but their pets were.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire as the Red Cross is assisting the family.
There is a donation drive underway and the Webster Township Fire Department is serving as a drop-off location.
“Our station is not staffed 24/7, so a tote will be left by the front door that has an overhang and is secured by cameras,” the department said.
