Driver strikes 2 Jefferson Co. deputy vehicles, causes minor injuries

(MADISON, Ind.) – Two Jefferson County deputies suffered minor injuries while helping a stranded driver on Tuesday.
Around 6:40 a.m., deputies were assisting a vehicle that slid off the roadway in the 4200 block of S.R. 62.
Both police vehicles were parked off the road on a private driveway.
A vehicle that was coming toward them left the roadway and struck both marked sheriff’s office vehicles.
Both deputies were briefly hospitalized for minor injuries and have since been released.
The sheriff’s office is sharing this incident to remind drivers to use extreme caution, slow down, and remain alert especially during hazardous roadway conditions and when emergency vehicles are present.
