Dump truck driver flown after Versailles crash

Happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- A driver of a dump truck was flown to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash near Versailles on Friday morning.


Ripley County deputies say the truck went over an embankment on the south side of U.S 50.


"Upon arrival to the scene, first responders identified multiple utility lines down and poles. Versailles Volunteer Fire Department extricated the driver of the truck as soon as it was determined safe by the utilities," said CRipley County Sheriffs Office Chief Deputy Lee Davidson.


70-year-old Keith Seevers, of Osgood, was taken to Versailles State Park where he was flown to a Cincinnati hospital.


His his current condition is unknown, however police said he was conscious and alert on the scene.


Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor of this incident.
