Eastbound I-74 near Batesville reopens after Friday crash

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – At least one semi and another vehicle were involved in a crash that closed eastbound I-74 near Batesville on Friday.
The accident happened around 10:45 a.m. near the 148 mile marker, which is just west of Batesville.
The conditions of anyone involved in the crash is not known at this time.
The eastbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours as traffic was diverted onto State Road 46 at New Point.
“After the vehicles are removed, INDOT will be treating the roadway surface to make sure that conditions improve for motorists traveling through the area this afternoon,” said ISP. Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.
Authorities are urging drivers to use caution due to the freezing temperatures and additional snow on Friday.
