(EVERTON, Ind.) – Volunteer firefighters helped rescue an injured bald eagle on Saturday.
The Everton Volunteer Fire Department was called to a report of the injured bald eagle and were able to keep it contained.
A DNR officer arrived and was able to catch the eagle and will have it transported to a rehab facility.
Firefighters say it is a juvenile bald eagle that is approximately 2 or 3 years old.
Officials did not specify which rehab facility it will be taken to, but there are two in our area including Red Wolf Sanctuary in Rising Sun as well as Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators in Hope.
