Family, pets displaced after fire in Greensburg

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A family and their pets have been displaced following a house fire in Greensburg on Tuesday morning. 

Around 9:30 a.m., crews responded to a home in the 100 block of West Walnut Street.

The Greensburg Fire Department says nobody was hurt despite heavy smoke inside the home. 

The fire has led to the family plus their 11 pets being without a home temporarily. 

Firefighters credited working smoke detectors inside the home for ensuring that there were no injuries. 

Greensburg was assisted by Letts Fire, Decatur County EMS, Decatur County Communications, Decatur County CIT, Decatur County Animal Control and Greensburg Utilities.
