Fiat Classical Academy teachers take oath during Mass

(AURORA, Ind.) – Two Catholic schools in Aurora celebrated their first Mass of the school year on Thursday.

Fiat Classical Academy and St. Mary’s School have a joint Mass every Thursday, but the first of the school year held extra significance. 

During this Mass, the faculty at Fiat Classical Academy made a profession of faith and an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. 

The profession and oath is part of a growing trend of new Catholic schools around the country. 

It serves as a public declaration of each teacher’s belief in the fullness of Truth revealed by Jesus Christ and faithfully passed on in and through the Catholic Church. 

Every Fiat Classical Academy teacher went in front of the congregation to affirm their commitment to providing an authentic Catholic education during the Mass. 

“We desire to make the profession and oath because we know that everything a Catholic school does must spring from the firm foundation of the Catholic Faith,” says Fiat Head of Mission Brad Macke.

Fiat Classical Academy is a high school currently in their third year and approaching their first senior class.

They will be offering Shadow Days starting in September, and will host an Open House on November 5.
