Firefighters rescue elderly person from house fire in Manchester

(MANCHESTER, Ind.) – A person was rescued during a house fire in Manchester on Monday morning. 

The fire occurred around 10 a.m. at a home on Platt Road. 

Manchester Township firefighters say they received a report that an elderly person was trapped inside the home. 

Firefighters were able to make entry and safely remove the resident from the home. 

Crews were then able to knock down the flames and prevent the fire was spreading. 

Manchester Township was assisted by Miller-York Fire, Sunman Fire, Milan Fire, Sunman EMS, and the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office
