(BRIGHT, Ind.) – A firework caused an attic fire in Bright on Saturday night.
The firework was shot off in the driveway of a home on Brightland Court and went through an attic vent.
Officials said the homeowners thought the firework went over the house and were unaware it went into the home for several hours.
Around 1:30 a.m., the homeowners noticed the fire and immediately called 911. Crews responded minutes later.
“The initial crews deployed and advanced a hose line into the attic, successfully extinguishing the fire. Their quick response prevented the fire from spreading rapidly throughout the entire attic space,” said Bright Fire Chief Kendall Eberhart.
There were no injuries and Bright Fire was assisted by Lawrenceburg Fire, Harrison Fire and E82. Crews were on the scene for nearly 3 hours.
