First responders rescue woman from Jennings Co. river

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A woman was saved by first responders in Jennings County on Wednesday.
Deputies were called to the Vinegar Mill area of Muscatatuck County Park around 11:30 a.m. for a report of a woman having a mental health crisis.
First responders found the woman who had fallen into the river about 300 yards from Vinegar Mill.
A deputy was able to get to her location while firefighters lowered a rope and pulled her to safety.
The woman was then taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by North Vernon Fire, Vernon Fire, Vernon Water Rescue, Rescue 20 and Jennings County Central Dispatch, and community members
