Flood Watch issued for Dearborn, Franklin counties

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of Southeast Indiana. 

It’s in effect for Dearborn, Franklin, Fayette and Union counties from Monday afternoon until 8 a.m. Wednesday. 

The watch has been issued due to the expected thunderstorms this evening and on Tuesday. 

“Locally heavy rainfall can be expected with the potential for storms to repeatedly track over the same locations. This will result in the potential for flash flooding,” NWS officials said. 

Residents are asked to be prepared for immediate action if flooding occurs, avoid low-lying areas, and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.
