Former East Central QB's son in Little League World Series

(WILLIAMSPORT, PA.) – There’s a Southeast Indiana connection in the Little League World Series! 

Hamilton West Side Little League (Ohio) defeated Iowa 7-1 on Thursday to advance to the U.S. Finals. 

A member of the Hamilton team is Hudson Vonderheide, the son of JD and Andrea Vonderheide.

JD was a football standout for Batesville before transferring to East Central his senior year. He also played basketball and baseball.

JD graduated in 1999 and went to Miami University where he was the backup quarterback to Ben Roethlisberger. 

Hudson is an outfielder who is lefthanded and wears #6. He had a single that earned an RBI in the game against Iowa on Thursday.
