Former EC star enters college football transfer portal

(CINCINNATI) – A former East Central standout is entering the college football transfer portal. 

Eli Aston has found plenty of success as a wide receiver and kick returner in his first two years at Mount St. Joseph University. 

This year, Aston led the conference in all receiving categories while scoring a school record 21 touchdowns, which was good for second nationally. He was third nationally in receiving yards with 1309 and 15th with 75 receptions. 

As a freshman, Aston had 67 receptions for 1,358 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns. 

The former IHSAA state champion has also earned several conference awards including HCAC Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman. He was also named by D3football.com as all-region selection for the 2025 season.

Aston has two years of eligibility remaining.
