Former postal worker, ex-boyfriend accused of mail theft in Rising Sun

(RISING SUN, Ind.) – A former postal employee and her ex-boyfriend are accused of stealing mail that was intended for Switzerland and Ohio County residents.

Prosecutors say 27-year-old Cheyenne Seina Bradley would take mail from her route and bring it home. There were checks, credit cards, and other financial documents that were allegedly opened and used for personal gain.

38-year-old Evan Hensley, who is the father of her child, allegedly was involved with opening the mail and committing acts of theft and forgery.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department recovered large quantities of stolen mail and financial instruments belonging to numerous victims, according to Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.

Investigators believe several thousand parcels of mail were taken and said they were able confirm that some Ohio County and Switzerland County residents experienced missing or delayed mail, including checks and other critical financial documents.

“This case involves a profound breach of public trust,” stated Prosecutor Lynn Deddens. “People depend on the mail for their financial security and peace of mind. When that trust is violated, it impacts an entire community.”

Both Bradley and Hensley have been charged with Theft, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery, Corrupt Business Influence and Official Misconduct.
