Franklin Co. basketball coach now third for all-time program wins

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – The Franklin County girls basketball coach is now third all-time for program victories.

The Lady Wildcats beat Shawe Memorial 56-32 which marked Coach Kyle Van Meter's 55th career win. 

The victory surpassed coach Brad Stacy and now Van Meter only trails Jon Hancher who has 72 wins and Tom Schienbein who is the all-time leader with 98 wins. 

“Passing someone like Coach Stacy is incredible. I really look up to him as a coach and teacher. I’ve been blessed to coach a lot of great players and work with some very smart coaches,” Van Meter said. 

Van Meter also credited assistant coach Michael Kristoff who has been part of all 55 victories. 

The Wildcats are 3-3 on the season and will be on the road against Lawrenceburg on Tuesday night.
