Franklin Co. girl accomplishes Top 15 goal at Horse Congress

(COLUMBUS, OH.) – Hard work and a lot of training has paid off for a Franklin County girl!

9-year-old Josie Beal is a fourth grader at Mt. Carmel School and she competed in the All American Quarter Horse Congress this weekend.

The Horse Congress is held in Columbus, Ohio, and it’s the world’s largest horse show with more than 28,000 entries annually.

This marked Josie’s final year in the Peewee division and she set a goal for herself to finish as a Top 15 qualifier in the Bending and Barrel competitions.

“On Saturday, Josie showed up and ran hard applying everything she has trained for,” said her mom, Amanda.

Beal placed 11th overall in Bending and 14th overall in Barrels, bringing home two top 15 finishes!

She has achieved her dream but isn’t done yet! Josie plans to continue competing both locally and in other competitions around the nation.
