Franklin Co. grad wins college equestrian national titles

(WILMINGTON, OH.) – A Franklin County graduate is graduating from Wilmington College as the school’s most accomplished equestrian.
Maegan Pearson was recently crowned a national champion during the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Nationals in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
The Wilmington senior won the Open Western Horsemanship and High-Point Rider titles during the competition. She also placed fourth in the Western Reining event.
“The 2026 graduate will leave the College as its most accomplished equestrian with three consecutive appearances at Nationals and, now, possessing the jewels in the crown as a multiple National Champion,” Wilmington College stated.
Pearson is a Laurel native who has shown horses her entire life and completed 10 years of 4-H in Decatur County.
She has majored in equine business management and agribusiness at Wilmington.
