Was first charged in Franklin County in March

(CINCINNATI) – A man who is accused of severely injuring an infant in Franklin County is now also facing charges in Ohio.
30-year-old Alexander Grimme was charged in March with Neglect of a Dependent and Domestic Battery.
Franklin County prosecutors say Grimme was the primary babysitter for his girlfriend's infant child, when she was at work.
Grimme allegedly caused a brain bleed, wrist fractures and other injuries to the 9-month old this past January.
According to court records, Grimme also searched google for terms such as "bruising on babies that have been strangled" while he was in Franklin County.
On Thursday, the Hamilton County Prosecutors Office indicted Grimme on charges of felonious assault and strangulation.
The new charges involve Grimme and the same child, however, prosecutors believe there were also crimes committed in Ohio.
Prosecutors say Grimme was babysitting that infant in Delhi Township when the child suffered abusive head trauma in January.
The baby became unresponsive and was taken to Cincinnati Children’s where doctors determined the injuries to be non-accidental, prosecutors said.
Officials believe the child sustained permanent brain damage and now faces serious developmental delays.
"It is heartbreaking and infuriating that somebody trusted to care for a baby could cause such harm. We will make sure he is held accountable,” said Hamilton County Prosecutor Connnie Pillich.
Grimme will be arraigned in Hamilton County on Friday and faces up to 22 years in prison if convicted.
The charges in Franklin County are still pending.
