(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A 17-year-old from Laurel was killed in a crash in Franklin County on Sunday.
Investigators say Ethan Heath was traveling on State Road 1 near Blooming Grove when his car left the roadway.
“The vehicle struck a culvert and driveway, went airborne, and rolled multiple times before coming to rest,” a Franklin County deputy said.
Heath was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The Franklin County School Corporation will have additional counselors at school today to support any staff member or student that is struggling due to the loss.
“This tragedy is felt deeply across our FCCSC family. In times like these, we lean on one another for strength and comfort. Please keep the family, our staff, and our students in your thoughts as we walk through this difficult time together,” said Franklin County Superintendent Dustin Gehring.
